Positive Behaviour at Chaucer
Many of you would have heard your child talk about a CVA or Chaucer Values award. This is based on the Positive Behaviour for learning programme which is about setting up a consistent school wide approach to behaviour management in schools aiming to reduce behavioural incidents and increase engagement in learning. Chaucer is one of the first schools in New Zealand to be on this programme and thus we are able to access the expertise, training and resources that this Ministry initiative offers.
The basic principles of Positive Behaviour for Learning are nothing new to schools. The programme is not revolutionary but it is well resourced and gives the school access to experts and professional development.
